In Germany, a mortgage is called an “Immobiliendarlehen” and is provided by banks, savings banks or mortgage banks .
When applying for a mortgage in Germany, different conditions also apply than in the Netherlands. For example, a higher own contribution is often expected, which is usually between 20% and 30% of the purchase price, and your income situation, creditworthiness and any other current obligations are taken into account. In addition, additional costs such as transfer tax, notary fees and registration fees cannot be co-financed and must be paid with your own funds.
